FAIRDEAL‘s Representatives Mr. Shaffiq just recently, July 2010 graduated from the Institute receiving the East African Freight Forwarders Practicing Certificate, while Mr. Ben Mutua graduated, with the same in Dec 2009.

MAY 2010 GOING –GREEN THROUGH TREE PLANTING

The FAIRDEAL Group team put on their environmental shoes to walk-the-talk of conserving the environment during a Tree Planting Day by making a donation of 1000seedlings worth Ksh 20,000.

This was organized by the Young Farmers Club of Ronald Ngala Primary School, Tudor, founded in 1949 by colonial farmers. The Club is run by the Agricultural Society of Kenya. In attendance were FAIRDEAL Group’s Madam Insiya Mukarram, and the Staff representatives of the Company.

We are living in an era where the International news continues to alert us about Global warming caused by increasing concentrations of green house gases resulting from human activity such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation. Furthermore, the local news, in the recent past was taken-over by the call to conserve the Mau Forest, one of our countries water catchment sources.

It was indeed a FAIR-DEAL for the APDK branch located in Bombolulu, Mombasa as FAIRDEAL family comprising representatives from FAIRDEAL Hardware, FAIRDEAL Furniture and FAIRDEAL UPVC, Aluminium & Glass paid them a visit. The APDK National Director-Mr. Hubert Seifert, Programme Manager-Mrs Esther Mwanyama and CEO-Mr. Kivuli were present to receive them.

Since its inception in 1958, APDK has undergone a tremendous transformation in its approach towards the empowerment of people with different abilities, from the initial focus based on the charity model of rehabilitation, where disabled people were considered objects of pity to fully embracing the social model of rehabilitation with emphasis on equalization of opportunities and mainstreaming of services for integration.

FAIRDEAL Group generously made a donation of Maroo Paints worth Ksh 36,000 from the Fairdeal Hardware outlet, for painting the Bombolulu Workshop staff houses. Fairdeal also donated clothing and food items to the Rehabilitation Clinic-children, based in Port Reitz( A sister branch),who were present together with their Administrator Madam Leah Mwachari.

As Mr. Hussein Ezzi, FAIRDEAL Hardware’s representative, confirmed in his speech, Fairdeal, holds fast its values of continuously giving back to the society.

  • APDK will be considering the option of buying raw materials for their wheelchair workshop from Fairdeal Hardware. They are currently buying from our competitors.

APDK is currently a customer of Fairdeal UPVC for glass and Fairdeal Furniture for office furniture.

MJI WA SALAMA (HOME), MOMBASA
As the Africa region commemorated “The Day of the African Child” marked on June 16th of this year, Fairdeal Group of Companies was not left behind.

This day highlights the plight of children across the African continent that hinders the progress of their development especially in education, culture, religion, health, child abuse, child trafficking, ending the issue of child soldiers amongst other issues.

Following the theme of this year, “Africa Fit for Children”, indeed Fairdeal Group played their part at the Mji Wa Salama, Home in Mombasa on 20th of this month. The home, caters for children who are orphaned or have been abandoned in institutions like hospitals. The home has been catering for these children since 1970.


THE CHILDREN & DONATION

The home currently houses 60children ranging from the age of 2months-19years. The children attend school on different levels including Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary as well as polytechnics, for those who get sponsorship.

Mrs. Insiya Mukarram of Fairdeal Group of Companies donated children’s items ranging from stationery, baby shawls and educational toys worth Ksh 35,000.

As further donation of an urgently needed chest drawer worth Ksh 20,000 was also made as part of the donation to the home.

A FAIRDEAL FOR WORLD RED CROSS DAY – 2009

Fairdeal group of Companies generously joined hands with the Kenya Red Cross Mombasa branch to commemorate the World Red Cross Day. The event which is annually held by the Kenya Red Cross is dedicated to the vulnerable children from special schools and homes.
Fairdeal group donated stationery items and educational games and toys estimating to Kshs. 50,000 for the children.

Some of the schools that will be benefitting are Port Reitz School for the Physically Handicapped, ADPK Rehabilitation Centre, Likoni School for the Blind, Mombasa Children’s Home, Tudor School for Mentally Challenged, Ziwani School for the Deaf, Tom Mboya and Mji Wa Salama.
The handing over was done at the Kenya red Cross headquarters at Koblenz Hall on Wednesday, 24th May 2009 by Mrs. Farida Ezzi and Mr. Juzar Mamujee of Fairdeal.

Present at the handing over ceremony were Kenya Red Cross Chairman Mr. Francis Ngugi, Mrs.Batul Chakera the Welfare officer, and Kenya Red Cross First Aid Training Officer Abdalla Athman.
The World Red Cross Day was observed on Sunday 24th March, 2009 where all the children were treated to a luncheon at the Koblenz Hall.
Fairdeal Group of Companies has been a staunch supporter of the Kenya Red Cross and has made various contributions in the past years through the association for the welfare of the community.
The Kenya Red Cross association has been striving for community upbringing over the years and as the chairman puts it “A small act of kindness by an individual goes a long way in so many lives”.

Fairdeal holdings donated Ksh 10,000 for the financial support of Mr. Jackson Muraguri an 8 year old boy who was knocked by a vehicle and sustained serious head injuries  in Mombasa and is being treated at the Aga Khan Hospital in the ICU. Through the Mayor, a cheque was donated by Mr. Idriss Ezzi on Behalf of the Group.

 FAIRDEAL’S MSAIDIZI KWA MOYO

The Saidia Kwa Moyo Children’s Foundation in Kilifi got a generous donation of paints from Fairdeal Hardware to paint their new hostel.

The contribution ceremony was held at the children’s home on Saturday, 23rd August in a ceremony where the children expressed their appreciation through songs and various other talent exhibits.

The “Help with Heart” association was founded by Petra Muller a former nurse and her husband Helmut originating from Konigslutter (Germany) and their ambition is to provide the children with a home, an education a future to live for. 

Wholeheartedly supporting their noble deed, Fairdeal Hardware stepped in to help them with paints that shall be used for the new living quarters of the children.
